So after you've imported the 58,000 records QIF, you quit gnucash and restart (or switch to another file/database and then reopen) it takes half an hour to load? Wow.
Just after i import i try open the account(X - 57000), the big one, open realy quick.
So i close, take a coffe(10 min later) and it became slow.
Again, how long does it take when you save as an XML file and reopen it? How big a file does it create, and do you have "compress data files" selected in Edit>Preferences>General?
XML - Tests.
To open with postgres:
Start at : 18:51:36
End at: 19:17:32
I re-import the file to gnucash, and save file as xml.
Without close, i try to open an acount call (X - 57000 trasactions)
Open time 5seg.
Now i close the file, and re-open the same file:
#gnucash
Time: 5Min 18seg
Try to open an acount call (X - 57000 trasactions)
Open time 5seg(same time)
File size 77M
"compress data files" - yeah!
What OS/Distro and what sort of hardware are you using?
I got 3 kind of OS.
Windows XP. (On this is a HP pavlon 2200 [Core Duo 1.8 512 ram])
Centos 5.5 (Intel I5, 4gb RAM)
Mandriva 2010.1 x64 (Intel I5, 4gb RAM)
Postgresql8.4
All they got the same behavior(take to much time to open, same time!).
Now i try samething diferent way:
Centos (The most import to run, and the only one i will work for now.)
#gnucash test
it can't open the file so now Ok no news for now.
File --> Open --> postgres(configs)
I can see the accounts, but the Open window don't close, looks like it's tring open the trasactions(No news about that Oo).
