This is not a package, just {gettext.inc, gettext.php, streams.php} in
the 'externals' directory. My patch is against 'htdocs/trunk', so
apply them is quite simple. More information about php-gettext, please
check: https://launchpad.net/php-gettext/
We use 'php-gettext' instead of system gettext, just in case the
locale is not installed on the web server. It happened for zh_CN, and
might happened again. Just simply put these 3 files to 'externals'
then we will never need to care about the locale installation on the
server. php-gettext will use the system gettext function if the locale
is installed, otherwise, it will parse the .mo file directly to get
the function working. I think it's not that bad to get the advantage
just for 3 files.

First, I'm trying to optimize the site structure, and it definitely
will work soon, since it's not very big problem and I'm willing to
spent some time on it.
Second, for the mailling list search, the multi-language support only
works fine for "en de fr it es", not others. Especially not working
for Japanese and Chinese. As a multi-language site, it should works
for all the languages.
For Chinese, no translation are shown for Chinese at all. Maybe
because, as I mentioned, the zh_CN locale isn't installed or the
template not generate correctly at the time zh_CN translation
submitted. And even the zh_CN template are generated correctly, since
the charset is 'iso-8859-1', the whole interface will become chaos. I
attached a screenshot for the case. I got it during my fixing, so I
know it was not working before.
For Japanese, there is no general header and menu of gnucash.org for
Japanese page. I know it because the template is not generated, the
original template is used for the encoding problem.
For other languages, some non-ascii characters in the translation will
not be shown correctly.
It is a problem we just leave it before, however, the problem can be
fixed and I already fixed it on my machine. So, don't be so worry,
just let me have a try, it will be ok.
