status of "EURO support"

Dear Jürgen,

I'm sorry for the existence of this option. There's a bug that  
discusses exactly what you propose,  
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449395 , and the conclusion  
is that the preference can be removed altogether. There were open  
questions as to what else is implemented instead or in addition, but  
the preference and all its documentation can be removed.
