Thanks for setting this up. I'd like to join the github organization  
(username still: cstim) and also as an admin.

There has been a github clone by timabell,  
https://github.com/timabell/gnucash and he's also converted the  
branches/tags into actual git branches and tags, which of course is  
much nicer. Tim explained to me privately how to do this conversion,  
but I don't have his explanation here right now.
