Sorry Ngewi, for some reason I missed your question on the website
organisation.
My first thought was that is would be a nice idea to use a gnucash.org
subdomain.
While thinking it through more thouroughly, I am not sure. While GnuCash
for Android is really meant as a companion app to GnuCash on desktop, it
is a completely independent project. With that I mean:
- it doesn't share any code (it's even written in a totally different
language)
- it's not using the same source repository
- it's not using the same bug tracker
- it has different policies regarding patch submission,...
These are all fine by the way. But my feeling is that there is not
sufficient behind-the-scenes integration to warrant the same gnucash.org
subdomain. That would confuse users in my opinion.
What I do think would be nice to have is a page on the GnuCash website
that promotes external, yet closely related projects. And in the case of
GnuCash for Android, I would even go as far as to promote it on the
front page, considering you are actively interacting with the GnuCash
community regarding your project.
And finally note that my opinion on this is not carved in stone and open
for debate. I'm just formulating my idea given the information I see
before me at this moment.
Regards,
Geert
