I'm currently working with upstream swig to get guile 2 support included. While doing so, I found that 
my patch is barely sufficient to support GnuCash, but most of the swig tests failed.

So I have been working on improving my patch in the last few weeks and am about to submit it 
upstream for inclusion. If it's not rejected, we should have guile 2 support in the next version of swig.
