Building on Windows from scratch

Thanks for the info.
I will set up a windows 32 bit virtual machine and try to follow the instructions one by one. Should I report each problem to this list or privately to somewhere else. I'm happy to put in the work to ensure that the instructions are clear.
BTW, the reason I want to be able to build gnucash from source is that I'm considering some enhancements which may be of interest to others and may not, but I am restricted to running on windows boxes at the moment.

Dear Gary,
I've used those instructions several times, and quite successfully each time
(although it takes hours).

I think the 64-bit part causes quite some issues for you. The binaries are
almost surely not 64-bit capable and those might result in many of the
problems you're facing.
Other than that, we could just ask you to list the problems, one by one and in
detail, so that one by one those get fixed again, or extended so that win7
64bit works as well.

Christian
