Menu separator unification

Hello,
while translating GnuCash I noticed inconsistencies in menu separators:
"File -> Open" vs. "File > Open".

I would like to make them consistent. However, what type of "arrow" is
preferred:
1. >	File > Open	(Used in GnuCash)
2. ->	File -> Open	(Used in GnuCash)
3. →	File → Open	(Used in GnuCash manual)
4. ▸ 	File ▸ Open	(Used in Gnome)
