Cristian,

Thanks for the clear explanation of the underlying DocBook processes. The problem was, as you suspected, a change in the chapter I had edited, and had to do with initial attempts to insert high-level Part designations. I figured out that I could place these in gnucash-guide.xml to achieve the result I sought.
