Closing Accounts?

You're right, that's not really what I'm looking for-- for several
reasons:

1) I'd have to declare a new fiscal year every time I close an account.
   With online banking in the flux it's currently in, that might happen
   uncomfortably often.

2) I don't want to lost the transactions they're a part of (at least,
   not until I close out my year normally), I just don't want to see it
   in my main list of accounts.

3) That doesn't close just the account, it closes the entire year, and
   that has implications that are (to me) far more important than just
   "I don't have an account here anymore."

Seems to me that a "Close This Account" function that just excluded it
from the account list wouldn't be hard.  If no-one's interested in 
writing it, I will; I'd just like some idea if my patches will be
rejected a priori first. :)
