g-wrap installed but not found

I am attempting to install gnucash_1.4.9, configure is complaining about
g-wrap.
I'm getting the error message:

    checking for g-wrap-config... no
    checking for g-wrap... no
    configure: error:
      g-wrap does not appear to be installed.  It must be installed and
      its binary directory must be in your PATH.  If you need to install

      g-wrap, you can find it at ftp://ftp.gnucash.org/pub/g-wrap.

G-wrap is installed.  As per below.
$ rpm -q g-wrap
g-wrap-0.9.8-2

My path is:
/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/bin/X11:/usr/X11R6/bin:/usr/share/guile/site/:/usr/share/guile/site/g-wrap/

So what is the g-wrap binary anyway.  All I see are .scm files in those
directories.  How do I get g-wrap to be found?
