Mutual funds balance adjustment

Hello all,

I am using Gnucash 1.4.2 and am having a problem with adjusting the
balance on a Mutual funds account. Now, as I'm quite new to this I
understand that I might be doing something wrong, if so, any help
would be appreciated.

A few months back I transferred EUR 200 from my banking account to the
mutual funds. The costs involved in this transaction is 0.4% . As
such, EUR 199.20 was put into the mutual fund that was trading at
EUR 25.25 at that time; I acquired 7.8891 shares.

A few months have passed now and these 7.8891 shares now represent a
value of EUR 209.46. I'd like to represent this in my GnuCash balance
and choose Account --> Adjust Balance from the menu. Up comes a new
window prompting me for the value. I enter (as I think I'm supposed to
do) the amount of EUR 209.46 and click ok. In the account register it
now displays: Adjust Balance with Bought 201.5709 at a price of 1 and
bringing my total numbers of shares to 209.46 (!)

The output I would have expected to see would be 7.8891 shares with a
value of 209.46 at a price of EUR 26.55 a share.

What am I doing wrong or why am I being plagued by such a nasty bug?
Any insights would greatly be appreciated.

Sincerely,

Remco Rijnders
