RedHat 7.1 and KDE install

I am fairly new to Linux so you can imagine that I have exhausted my
knowledge on getting gnucash installed on KDE.

When I installed my system, I installed both KDE and Gnome but I use KDE. No
matter what I do, I run into dependency issues. I solve one by downloading
it and it wants another. By the time I am down the dependency tree, I don't
know what I have and have not installed. I am not even sure if I have
successfully installed some things that I think I have installed!

When is this headache going to be resolved with more than just a list on a
web site saying "you need these packages, go get them."??? I just want to
use gnucash but I guess only savy, experienced linux users can do so or, only
those with a specific default installation can, because the lack of how-to
information and/or a complete dependency package list is appaling.
