Features for gnucash-1.6?

Another request: As far as I can tell, the status bar in the buttom 
of the main window shows the accumulated profits (and assets) from 
the dawn of time. Would it be possible (as an option) to show only 
the accumulated profits so far in the current (fiscal) year?
