gnucash reconcile annoyance

For some reason,when I am entering transactions, guncash prompts me to
reconcile after EVERY transaction, and will not let me leave until
something is done about it. This is very user-unfriendly, and I am
hoping that there is a way of turning off such "idiot-proofing"
features. In other words, I should be able to enter a list of
transactions, then reconcile them all at the end.
