It's pretty clearly listed: we need an up-to-date release of Gnome-1.4. 

Stop trying to crawl rpmfind.  I have never seen anything but headaches
come from trying to piece together things one library file at a time. 
All you have to do is install a complete Gnome development system from a
single source, like Ximian or the Gnome Packaging Project. 

On the subject of rpmfind: 

I can't understand why you would just go out, grab a package off some
random system, and install it as root.  If there haven't been any
trojans or worms spread by this, there will be soon.  Get your software
from a single source!
