Python error

Hi everyone,

I've installed gnucash (1.6.2, I think) from my SuSE 7.3 disks (i.e., it's
the SuSE RPM). When I attempt to run it, I get this:

'import site' failed; use -v for traceback
Fatal Python error: couldn't import os

Huh? For one thing, I didn't even think gnucash used Python. But could the
SuSE RPM be *that* broken?

Otherwise, can anybody give me some pointers on resolving the problem? I've
been to some Python sites, but they're aimed at people who already program
in Python, which I don't.

Any help would be appreciated.

Best regards,
Tim, who REALLY REALLY wants to use gnucash!
