Getting gnucash 1.7.5 running

You should try with the real latest g-wrap, which is 1.3.4. I *think*
1.7.5 gnucash depends on g-wrap 1.3.4 - versions 1.7.6 and later
definitely will. There should be a tarball of the source on
www.gnucash.org.
