Year End procedure (tutorial)

I know this had gone through this list about a zillion time already but I
could not find exatly what I was looking. So feel free to reply straight to me
and I'll summarize for the list and the "me toos".

I am looking for simple procedure, "tutorialesque", on how to close the books
w/ Gnucash 1.6. I KNOW it is currently a time consuming manual procedure but I
would like to try it just for shits and giggles. I remember it involving
transfering all the Income/Expense balances to an Equity account but I can't
quite nail it.

I am not necessarily looking for the most simple or quick way of doing it. I
am looking for the *best* way of doing it. A way that will hopefully agree
with the way it will work once everything is automated.
