Instability in 1.6.5

Thanks for the tip. You were correct; it was in fact libsafe that was
causing the problem.
According to the packager, libsafe-1.3-9 (part of the RedHat powertools
collection) is designed to run in the background with a small footprint
and intercept processes that could cause buffer overruns. The first
part is true -- it was such a light load that I hardly noticed it
running. In fact the only time I saw it was when examining logs: While
using Mozilla it would shut it down every other time a page with an
embedded shockwave ad was rendered. Unfortunate, but it kind of made
sense.
You may wish to put on your FAQ pages that libsafe interferes with the
operation of Gnucash 1.6.5. Hopefully a future build will address this
problem. I'm not a programmer, but I have to wonder why that library
considers Gnucash's XML tags potential buffer overruns!
All in all, 1.6.5 still seg-faults with alarming frequency, but at least
now I can use it on a regular basis. I would also like to recommend an
automated method of deleting the locks in the event of a crash (just a
thought). If there is a place to send bug reports I will be happy to do
so -- just let me know.
Thanks again for the help, and keep up the good work!
