GNOME Application Libs (gal)

On a Solaris 8 system, I upgraded gal to its latest release (0.18) and
attempted to recompile gnucash. The recompile worked well but now, gnucash is
dependant on both 0.4 and 0.18. I'm not sure how to get rid of the older
dependancy.

(charlesg@renoir) /usr/local/stow/gnucash-1.6.5>ldd bin/gnucash | grep gal
    libgal.so.18 =>  /usr/local/lib/libgal.so.18
    libgal.so.4 =>   (file not found)
(charlesg@renoir) /usr/local/stow/gnucash-1.6.5>

Any ideas?

PS: On the rebuild I started with "make clean" and I removed config.cache,
    config.log and config.status.
