Reminders

Huh?  There is very much a bill-due reminder, which is
run when you start GnuCash.  It will tell you when your
bill's (entered via the Business->Vendor menu items)
are coming due.

Similarly, scheduled transactions will also let you know
when they are "due", in the SinceLastRun dialog.

So, frankly, I'm not sure what you're complaining about....
