Yep! sure. But that is not what I now do when I cat my file when I start
a virtual terminal. I want to have a reminder of my bills each time I
log into my system. My present problem is that once logged into my
system (init 5) and Gnome comes up I would like to have my file cat to
the desktop without having to start a virtual terminal.

I am not complaining about anything. I am a very happy gnucash user.
Quicken, which I gave up using some months ago, puts a list of my due
bills as soon as I bring up Windows. No need to start Quicken. I only
need to run gnucash once a week but I want to be reminded about all my
due bills EVERY time I log into Gnome. It would be nice to have my file
cat to the desktop as soon as Gnome comes up, either in a virtual
terminal or straight onto the desktop and I need some help on how to do
that.

My apologies if I didn't explain myself sufficiently well and big thanks
to all the developers of gnucash.

Kind regards,

Graeme.

"Your arguments are very well and are theoretically sound, but if ever
payment of members comes into force, it will result in Parliament being
flooded with men of mediocre ability and may eventually open the doors
to a regime of terrorism and corruption."
