Gnucash 1.8.4, Suse 8.2, and a Gtk-Critical assert failure

Hello,

I've successfully compiled and installed gnucash-1.8.4 on my Suse Linux 8.2 
system, but when I run gnucash, the following error appears:


GLib-GObject-WARNING **: specified class size for type `GnomeClient' is 
smaller than the parent type's `GtkObject' class size

Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtktypeutils.c: line 99 (gtk_type_new): assertion 
`GTK_TYPE_IS_OBJECT (type)' failed
Segmentation fault

My system has all the latest patches from Suse, including the updated release 
version of gcc 3.3.  Evolution and other gnome apps appear to operate without 
generating this error.
