how to import OFX files

For Gentoo, you need to add ofx to your USE variables. For some reason, it is
not listed as a USE variable on the Gentoo web page, but it does work.
The USE variables are defined in /etc/make.conf
Somewhere in the file you will find a line like:
USE="qt kde cups doc"
The line may be blank or non-existent if you have not added any USE variables,
but there should at least be a commented example.
Anyway, after I added ofx
USE="qt kde cups doc ofx"
and emerged gnucash, everything worked well with the ofx import.
