Most courses use a book that's available from any bookstore.  The CPA has to 
read the book, answer multiple choice questions and, occasionally, do some 
exercises.  The answers and exercises are sent to the vendor.  After a 
satisfactory score is earned, a certificate is mailed. (Rush grading is 
available for an additional fee.)

For Gnucash, instructions for both installation and use should be included.  
Exercises would be helpful.
