Configuring gnucash-backend-postgres

Hi,
I'm working in an organisation trying to move to gnucash for our
accounting, I find it comparable or better than most stuff available
here, however I can't seem to get the postgresql backend to work.
I have a running postgres 7.2 server on a RH 7.3 box and have installed
gnucash 8.1 with the accompanying backend-postgresql package.
Can you please help.
