A simple End-of-Period question

Assuming you're not using any of the business features, I would use
File -> Export Accounts to create an empty account tree in a new file.
This will also get rid of your pricedb information, scheduled
transactions, etc.

If you ARE using business features then the only thing you can do is
either hand-edit the XML to remove all transactions, or remove them
from the GUI one-by-one.
