No offense, but I don't believe you.  This confirms my suspecion:

    open("libguile.so.6", O_RDONLY)         = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)

This means you're running something that was compiled on RH7.3 I
suspect you installed the RH7 gnucash and/or g-wrap rpms.  Again, make
ABSOLUTELY SURE that your rpms say "RH8".  If they don't then you're
using the wrong RPMs.
