That's not just another option -- it's part of the solution.  But it's
not a "sufficient" solution.  You need to put the actual checks into
the engine, although the UI should also perform checks to manipulate
the available options.  So, yes, you are correct, this should be done,
but it's not really "another option".  It's the same option, just moreso.
