g-wrap problems

Installing gnucash-1.8.7, It stopps and informs me that g-wrap is not 
installed correctly or new enough.  But when I down load what appears to be 
the latest stable version and try to install, I am informed that the 
currently installed version is newer than the version I am trying to install 
(this occurs with RH-9 using a RH-8 RPM).  Whe I try to compile a version of 
g-wrap.  The "not installed or not new enough" message comes up.  Can 
anybody help direct me past this block?  If so thanks a bunch.  David.
