retiring old transations?

It's apparantly almost working, now, in CVS Head.  The only question
is whether that code will be in a state to be released by next year.
(c.f. previous conversations on gnucash-devel about 1.10 v. 2.0
release).  It is unlikely this code will get back-ported to 1.8, but
you never know.
