Hey everyone, 
 
i've been trying to report a sale of stock in gnucash.  i read the help file 
but the part where it records profit in the investment account ledger is 
throwing off the number of shares that i own.  for example, in the help file, 
where there was $1000 profit, if i were to just put $1000 in the total buy 
column, then it would record that i bought 1000 shares at a price of $1.  
everything else would balance just like in the documentation.  only the number 
of shares, and therefore the current value, would be wrong.  is there an 
alternative way of recording realized capital gains?  thanks in advance.
