Error building gnome-libs 1.4.2 on Slackware 10

I also have a Slackware (but a -current one), and i think it is not
possible to build gnome 1 anymore, because the current gcc is to strict
with the sourcecode.

Instead of trying to rebuild them (which i also didn't succeed in), you
can simply download and install the packages from an old slackware,
which still was using gnoe 1, like Slackware 8.1.
With swaret (www.swaret.org) it can be done in a few minutes, just
configure it to slackware 8.1, update it, and then ask him to install
Gnome and all components GNUCash requires.
