Thanks for this. I did install fink and then finkcommander. I did not follow
any of the other instructions. Someone told me to start X11 and then type
the gnucash command and it worked.

I was under the impression that I had to compile something and I don't
understand what fink did/does, but my gnucash appears to be working.
