"Profits" in Summary Bar

I just upgraded from Fedora Core 1 to Fedora Core 2, which bring an
upgrade from GnuCash 1.8.8 to 1.8.9 along for the ride.

I can't figure out what the "Profits" figure in the Summary Bar is
showing now.  It's currently showing a number about $34,000 different
from my net income for the year.

Did the meaning of this figure change between GnuCash releases, or is
there a preference somewhere that may have gotten lost?
