lose reports if path is changed

Yes, this is how it works.  All report information is tied to the
filename of your data file (and the report information is stored under
~/.gnucash/books).  If you change the name (or path to) your data file
it assumes it's a DIFFERENT data file so it also assumes your report
settings are no longer valid.
