You're running Gnome 2.something - you can probably find out the exact 
version by either asking your package management tool (rpm or one of the
frontends), or poking around in the /usr/share/doc directory.  

The Gnome 1.x libraries will still probably be installed on your system 
though, and can happily coexist with 2.x.
