Guile crash (segmentation fault) on various operations

The bug report seems to be exactly what I'm experiencing - I checked the
bug logs earlier but I seem to have missed this one. I'll reply to the
bug list in the hope someone can help me sort this out.

I get the guile prompt, ie

I'm not familiar enuf with guile to attempt to get it to crash but from
the little playing around I did - it seems to be fairly stable.
