Why the global reference does not change the reports?

You have two options:

1) Don't close the report.  Gnucash will reload and re-run the report next time
you start the application and it will remember your settings.

2) Save the report, assuming you're using a recent-enough version of gnucash. 
This will create a "custom saved" report which you can later re-run.

Personally, I recommend option #1.
