print-session.c is one of the source files that is compiled into
gnucash. If you're printing anything, then it was compiled along with
everything else whenever gnucash was built for your system.

I'm pretty sure you have to track down what your system is doing with
the various font families. There's a slight chance this is a gnucash
(only) bug, but I doubt it.

The check printing routine is separate from the report manager, and I
didn't see any way to easily add font or font size selection to it (I'm
really lost in C programming, my contribution consisted of cobbling
scheme code to create a different check format.)
