Lost or corrupt files

Hi Kathy,

Are you, by any chance, trying to open the .log files? All the .xac files are
backups of your files. You can try to copy the most recent backup file,
something like:

  cd /home/kathy/accounting
  cp myfile-20050516201023.xac myfile2

(this will CoPy the backup file to a new file named 'myfile2')

Then you can try to run gnucash and open it:

   gnucash &
   File -> Open
   /home/kathy/accounting/myfile2

Does this work? If not, what (if anything) is printed on the console?

-derek
