Why would you want to open all categories/accounts?
Should be enough to open just checking and credit card accounts for instance.
And from those do the various transactions.
Like buying Groceries would be in a simple Basic Ledger view
Date      Num Description    Transfer           R Deposit Withdrawal Balance
19/4/2006     Buy Groceries  Expenses:Groceries           1234

No need to open the Groceries category
