Strange orphan behavior on creating new transactions

I don't think that is the bug I'm experiencing. It occurs for me when I
don't have a split open at all -- just entering a regular transaction in a
single line. If I understand the phenomenon you're talking about, it only
involves if you are creating or editing the transaction in a split view, right?
