Account balance calculated incorrectly

What version of GnuCash?  The log replay is known to be broken in
1.8; it was fixed in the early 2.0 series.  If you're still running
1.8 then your only option is to hand-fix your data file.  Even the 
C&R doesn't fix it in 1.8.
