Font size problem with v 1.8.11

Thank you for your reply, Elizabeth.

Unfortunately, the method from the other forum would not have availed 
me, since I don't use the KDE environment.

However, I was able to get this far: the register font size was 
adjustable from within Gnucash; and all other screen text except that in 
the account summaries themselves could be increased by fiddling with the 
font size in ~/.gtkrc.mine.

The account summaries problem I solved by moving my head closer to the 
monitor when necessary!
