Are you sure you have set the Account type to be Stock, and then click
the "Select" on the Commodity box.
This should bring you the "Select Currency/Security" dialog, and in this
one, you should be able to choose which Type "AMEX, EUREX, FUND, NASDAQ,
NYSE" or just press "NEW" and create your own new stock. Like ERICB.ST
in EUREX, for Ericsson B, traded in Stockholm.
If the Account type is set to something related to cash (like
bank/cash/income/expense etc) you can only choose "Currency" as a
commodity.
