Error during report preparation

I am running 1.8.10 so I know bug fixes are
inappropriate.

I want to know if my data file is still screwed from
my last episode [I went back to what I thought was a
good version and reentered transactions.]

The following error pops up when doing some [but not
all] transaction reports

** CRITICAL **: file option-util.c: line 173
(gnc_option_set_selectable): assertion
`option->odb->set_selectable != NULL' failed.

Searched the archives for 6 mos and didn't find
anything.
