Quick Q's regarding MacOSX install of Gnucash 2.0.2

Hi Gilles;

I did several builds of 2.0.2 on Mac OS X 10.4.8 (PPC) earlier this week.
This was my 1st go at GnuCash, so I can't answer your question about
removing 1.8. As for Fink, I actually started with it (because I already
had it installed). I got a build using the unstable tree, but I felt that
it built a bunch of stuff above and beyond Gnucash's lengthy dependency
list. And, probably due to my own mistake, I didn't get OFX and
Finance::Quotes enabled.

I decided to start over again with MacPorts, but kept the Fink install
around in case the MacPorts one didn't work. So, yes, they can co-exist
peacefully. To get OFX and Finance::Quotes under MacPorts you need to do:

sudo port install gnucash +enable_quotes +enable_ofx +enable_hbci

Starting from a freshly installed MacPorts (i.e. none of the dependencies to
speak of installed) the build took about 12 hr on my iBook G4. I used the
port -v option so that there was a fairly constant stream of stuff going by
in an xterm window that gave me the warm, fuzzy feeling that progress was
being made.

The resulting install works fine with the exception that the docs will not
show up from either the help menu, nor from yelp. There is also come
messiness in the price editor that I just logged as a bug (
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=376298), but it doesn't cause data
corruption as far as I can tell.

As I said, this was my first use of Gnucash, and I'm very impressed with the
program (but you obviously already know that it's good...)

Good luck,

Doug
