Previous to 2.0, the filename used for meta data was
~/.gnucash/books/[url-encoded-full-path-to-file] ... in the case below,
the meta-data file would have been
~/.gnucash/books/%2Fhome%2Ftnm%2F.gnucash%2Fbooks%2Fnewtest
Thus, it wouldn't collide with the other file.
Regardless, you should not expect to use ~/.gnucash/ (or, indeed,
"~/.any-app/") for your own file storage.
